Hiroshige Foxfires

Utagawa Hiroshige's "New Year's Eve Foxfires at the Changing Tree, Oji" captures a mystical Japanese folklore scene beneath a starlit winter sky. This masterwork from the Edo period woodblock tradition depicts ghostly foxfire spirits gathering under ancient bare trees—a celebrated New Year's Eve ritual in old Edo. The supernatural glow of the foxes against the deep indigo night creates an atmosphere both haunting and serene.

Perfect for collectors of Japanese art, this Hiroshige print brings cultural depth and moody elegance to living rooms, libraries, or meditation spaces. The night sky and folklore imagery resonates with lovers of mystical wall art, zen garden aesthetics, and dark academia decor. An exceptional anniversary gift or housewarming gift for those drawn to Asian wall art and vintage Japanese poster tradition.

Our woodblock print reproduction honors Hiroshige's original with museum-quality digital printing on archival paper. Each Japanese art print showcases the delicate gradations and fine line work that made Hiroshige a master of the ukiyo-e tradition. Sustainable materials, ready to frame.
