Josef Albers Retrospective 1971
Josef Albers' Homage to the Square comes alive in this 1971 Met retrospective poster, nesting sage green, slate blue, warm gray, and golden yellow squares in perfect concentric harmony. Rooted in Bauhaus color theory, the composition is serene and meditative, a study in balance that feels as fresh today as it did on the gallery wall over fifty years ago. This bauhaus print carries the calm, considered mood of mid century and japandi interiors alike, equally at home as bauhaus wall art in a study or as mcm wall art anchoring a reading nook.
Its quiet geometry suits living room decor, office decor, and any space that calls for minimalist, wabi sabi calm. It also makes a thoughtful self care gift for anyone drawn to color theory, midcentury modern design, or the meditative pull of a well-balanced grid.
